NASA Range and Ground Systems Engineering

Supply Chain Management and Life Cycle Support

INTERFUZE provided Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) with supply chain management and life cycle support, including storing, tracking, calibrating, and inventorying all test and fabrication equipment assigned as Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). Test equipment includes cranes, forklifts, lifting devices, CNC machinery, electronic test measurement equipment, and tooling.

INTERFUZE developed and followed our NASA-approved Property Plan used to perform an annual inventory of more than 60,000 line items. Inventories consisted of touch type or physical inventory including calibration, check-in, check-out, cleaned, counted, cycled, inspected, machined, moved, observed, painted, plated, reassigned, received, repaired, sampled, scanned, tagged, tested, treated, and used. INTERFUZE personnel received, shipped, stored, controlled, and distributed equipment, tools, components, materials, chemicals, and other consumables used during the performance of test-related activities. INTERFUZE relied on MSFC stores stock as much as possible to avoid duplication of supply items.

US Air Force Pocket J Management and Operations

 Infrastructure Management and Operations

INTERFUZE provides infrastructure management and operations support for the US Air Force’s Pocket J System. Pocket J is the primary ground-based Tactical Data Link (TDL) Gateway providing tactical network communications supporting Headquarters Air Combat Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) air sovereignty missions for Home Land Defense (HLD) in the continental United States.

Using best commercial practices, INTERFUZE’s task is to maximize the operational availability and reliability of Pocket J systems and hardware while minimizing total sustainment costs and requirements for Government personnel to provide logistics support. This includes program management, GFE management, maintenance (Help Desk, Scheduled and Unscheduled Maintenance), Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) repair, Travel, Data, Cybersecurity, completion of Block Cycle and Software Upgrades, and Training. We ensure that Pocket J systems are in serviceable condition to the latest approved hardware and software configuration and, when required, determine the most cost-effective means of repair consistent with meeting required system performance and Cybersecurity criteria.
