U.S. Air Force Range Operation and Maintenance of Eglin Test Center  

Range Operations and Maintenance

 

INTERFUZE provided operation and maintenance of the Eglin test and training areas (724 square miles) and technical facilities, test and training mission support, engineering support for range system design/modification/range configuration, and range support services required to accomplish authorized range activities. The test and training activities included supporting efforts at other locations both inside and outside the continental United States. The significant categories of support on this contract were Test and Training Mission Support, General Support Services, Technical Support Services, Range Instrumentation Systems, Simulation Facilities Support, Environmental Test Facilities Support, and Explosive Test Facilities Support. 

 

INTERFUZE personnel efficiently maintained all land test areas to ensure continuous test area functionality that met customer expectations and satisfied requirements. We secured the availability of equipment and resources required to successfully conduct requested test and training missions and were responsible for security of the test area, preventing access by unauthorized personnel, and providing range surveillance and control. Timely and accurate mission data, financial data reports, instrumentation and equipment maintenance, and vehicle maintenance and data were provided.

Test Support and Operations

 

INTERFUZE provided Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) with test support and operations services for more than 100 tests and hot fires annually as it developed the Space Launch System (SLS), and Environmental Control and Life Support Systems for the International Space Station (ISS). INTERFUZE also provided test support to other NASA centers, commercial customers, and DoD including the Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC); White Sands Missile Range (WSMR); Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL); Defense Logistics Agency (DLA); Boeing; and Aerojet Rocketdyne. 

 

INTERFUZE managed and operated the Experimental Fluid Dynamics Test Facility (EFDTF), providing high-flow, dynamic testing of pumps, nozzles, and turbines.  Our general test support included a wide variety of test setup and operations including hazardous and non-hazardous operations.  Test support personnel provided data system operations and support (design and installation), instrumentation design and installation, system interconnection, material handling (including hazardous), lifting operations, photographic documentation, audio/visual equipment installation and operation, and data collection and reduction/analysis.

Recovered Chemical Materials Directorate (RCMD) Technical Support 

Environmental Compliance and Restoration

 

INTERFUZE provides project management, knowledge capture, and operational management to the Recovered Chemical Material Directorate (RCMD). This includes operations support for the safe storage, treatment, and disposal of chemical materials found in both CONUS and OCONUS locations. Efforts include supporting full live operations at Pine Bluff Arsenal, AR to treat and destroy various agents, including Mustard gas, using an Explosive Detonation System. 

 

INTERFUZE manages all operations, which includes drafting of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assisting with review boards, environmental permitting, and research and development. We coordinate with a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians to ensure that our procedures are current and correct while also ensuring that we are meeting environmental regulations.

Planning Sustainment Support

 

INTERFUZE performed planning sustainment support and was responsible for managing the planning, coordination, technical direction, and surveillance of all activities necessary to execute Customer Test Requests (CTRs) for the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) Test Lab. We managed test operations and performed personnel scheduling to maintain sufficient numbers of employees to manage facilities and test equipment to meet the schedule safely. Personnel were coordinated to ensure an appropriate skill mix to support test facilities (including around-the-clock testing), and we maintained and tracked inventories of supplies, materials, tools, and equipment required to perform testing. 

 

INTERFUZE supported MSFC at readiness reviews and customer meetings. Our staff ensured technical excellence, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness of all required work and deliverables through active management and intentional communication. INTERFUZE was also responsible for the implementation of the preventative maintenance program, which required us to perform and document all preventative maintenance per procedure requirements.

Air National Guard A7X Mobile Emergency Operations Centers (MEOCs) 

Mobile Command Center Operations

 

INTERFUZE supports the non-medical requirements and needs of the US Air National Guard (ANG) CBRNE enterprise and civil engineering community. This included procurement, fielding, and new equipment training for eight towable Mobile Emergency Operations Centers (MEOCs).

 

These custom-engineered, enclosed-roof platform system MEOCs were specifically designed to accommodate and support a 1.2-meter auto-deploy, auto-tracking Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) system, as well as various roof-mounted radio antennas, weather stations, and other specialized Command, Control, Communications, and Computer (C4) systems. The MEOC’s primary capabilities include communications, disaster relief operations, and mobile command and control operations. We have been awarded multiple task orders to provide new systems, retrofit equipment, and make communications upgrades to existing systems.
